CFC Emergency Shelters and Housing Services

    Description:

    Catholic Family Center’s (CFC) Housing Services Department, located at 539 Joseph Avenue, Rochester, NY 14605

    (585) 232-2050, offers an array of options from preventing homelessness through permanent supportive housing

    •Emergency Shelter programs provide individualized case management and additional support services. For entry: please go through the Monroe County Department of Human Services (DHS) at 691 St. Paul Street, Rochester, NY 14605 or call 2-1-1 for assistance.

    o Francis Center - Emergency and transitional housing services for men 18 years or older.

    o Place of Hope - (formerly known as Women’s Place) Emergency housing for intact families and single women.

    o Sanctuary House - Emergency and transitional housing for single women and women with children.

    • Permanent Supportive Housing programs provide supportive, independent housing for populations who are homeless and have a diagnosable disability.

    o Lafayette Housing - provides 26 safe, affordable apartments along with case management for families and individuals.

    o Son House – provides 21 one-bedroom apartments to individuals 18 years or older. This is a collaborative

    program between CFC and Providence Housing; CFC can accept applications.

    •Community Resource Services (CRS) provides immediate basic needs of daily life: including a food pantry, housing and financial assistance, advocacy, health insurance facilitation, case management for families in economic crisis, as well as information and linkage to other needed services in the greater Rochester area to enable stabilization.
