Adult care facilities are established and operated for the purpose of providing long-term residential care, including room and board, and personal care, and/or supervision to four or fewer adults unrelated to the operator. These homes are operated by individuals or families and certified and supervised by the local Department of Social Services and State Bureau of Adult Services. There are presently eight Family-type Homes for Adults and in the county. Because these Homes for Adults change periodically, anyone seeking information about these homes should contact the Franklin County Department of Social Services.
