Description:Emergency Assistance
Services include emergency food, information, referral and advocacy. Help is also offered for issues regarding housing, utilities, benefits, etc.
Roarke Connection
Provides services for women with legal issues or leaving incarceration. We offer case management, a weekly support group and help with basic needs to aid reintegration into the community We also work with the courts to deter incarceration.
Medical Clinic
Clinic is held Wednesdays from 6-8 p.m. Medical services are provided for the uninsured in cooperation with Seton Health.
Creative Arts
Members engage in creative activities by using diverse media such as clay, painting and printmaking.
Creative Writing
Encourages members in verbal/written expression with the assistance of scribes.
Digital Photography
Designed to develop observation skills and use of the computer to enhance pictures.
Adult Literacy
Participants needing individual or small group instruction in math and reading skills benefit from this program.
Sewing and Weaving
Instructors assist members to learn the skills of sewing and weaving to create a project of their choice while enjoying interacting with each other.
Food Assistance
For persons living in downtown and south Troy, once a month, emergency food for 3-4 days is provided to elderly, singles and families in need. Efforts are made to provide nutritious foods.
In conjunction with the Region Food Bank, Extra Helping offers the opportunity to purchase food at a reduced cost.
