Bingocize Bingocize is an evidenced-based health promotion program created at the Western University of Kentucky. This program combines exercise and health information with the familiar game of bingo, which is great fun. The goals of Bingocize are to learn and use health information to maintain or improve your quality of life, improve and/or maintain mobility and independence, and engage with other people in a social setting. This is a 10-week program that meets 2 times a week for 1 hour.
Bone Builders Osteoporosis Prevention and Bone Strengthening – Bone Builders is a safe, simple, and highly effective strength training program. Anyone who has been active or relatively sedentary for the past few years and are interested in improving their health, vitality and well being should attend. Strength training offers physical, mental and emotional benefits. Exercise is also an important part of an osteoporosis treatment program. Physical activity is needed to build and maintain bone health. In older people, exercise also improves function and delays loss of independence. This is a 12-week program that meets twice a week for 1 hour. The class is divided into 3 parts: warm-ups, 8-12 strength training exercises to promote proper body awareness, positioning, flexibility and posture and then cool down. Exercises can be modified so and level of ability can do these exercises.You will also receive easy to use nutrition information throughout the class.
Tai Chi Tai Chi is an effective exercise for a healthy mind and body. Exercise is known to benefit most aspects of health and is recognized as an essential part of the management of arthritis. This is a safe and effective exercise program for a variety of conditions and capabilities. It promotes flexibility, strength, stamina, posture, balance, and mind-body techniques. In this program, groups meet twice per week for one hour for 12 weeks. During each one-hour session, participants begin with 10 minutes of warn up, proceed to 12 movements (learned gradually over the 12 weeks) and then 10 minutes of cool down exercises. This program can be modified to any level of ability. This program has been approved by the Arthritis Foundation.
Walk with Ease Walk with Ease is an evidence-based program that has been proven to help people with arthritis or other related conditions reduce pain, increase balance, strength and walking pace and improve overall health. This program will help show you can be physically active and make physical activity part of your everyday life. You will develop and implement a personal walking plan for maintaining a long-term exercise routine. In this program, groups meet three times a week for 1 hour for 6 weeks. This program is developed by the Arthritis Foundation.
