The Partners for Success Program is a Work Readiness/Vocational & Social Rehabilitation Training Program designed and developed by WILC to provide information and supports that assist individuals with disabilities to better understand themselves, to successfully engage and participate in the Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) process, to obtain/retain employment, and to define and pursue a desired future, i.e., education, work, wellness, housing, etc. The Program is based on 3 key tenets - Personal Awareness, Personal Responsibility, and Personal Empowerment.

The Business Training Institute Inc. is a Non-Profit Community Based Organization which serves 425 students 15+ hours and 60 families yearly in the Summer and School Year through the Federal 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program. The Business Training Institute Inc., in partnership with the Utica City School District, provides academic and enrichment programs in Thomas R. Proctor High School, James H. Donovan Middle School and John F. Kennedy Middle School within the Utica City School District. The goals of the 21st Century Community Learning Centers Program are to:

1) Improve Test Scores

2) Improve Classroom Grades

3) Increase the Graduation Rate

4) Increase Positive Behavior

5) Increase Family Involvement

A program to help people identify their strengths and interests, and to explore vocational opportunities that will develop job skills.

Hilltop Industries operates three facility-based work centers that provide training and a variety of paid work experiences. Many businesses subcontract with Hilltop for the completion of assembly, packaging and printing jobs for their companies. Sheltered employment prepares, trains and supports individuals to be productive and independent employees.

We have computers with internet connections and printers available as well as telephones, fax machines, and copiers, all are available free of charge. The Independent Living Center assists and provides a training on the historical and present day application of Disability Rights and the movement. This training will offer a business, organization or community information about equal access, the Disability Movement, and the benefits of hiring someone with a disability.

The Cortland Works Career Center (CWCC) operates under the federal Workforce Investment Act. It is part of a system of ""One-Stop"" Career Centers across the country. In New York State these Center's comprise the ""Workforce New York Program"". The Center is a single site in our community where job seekers and businesses can access information about training, education and employment services. Currently there are eight (8) community agencies co-located at the CWCC to bring you a full range of employment and training services. The Cortland Works Career Center truly represents all of the good things that can happen when government and community agencies work cooperatively to achieve a common goal. For us, that goal is to strengthen our County's workforce.
