    Description:

    Open Door staff meet people at their point of need in Warren, Washington, and Saratoga counties in Upstate New York, regardless of their race, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, or creed.

    We provide practical, workable solutions to physical, spiritual, and relational brokenness by providing hunger relief and shelter. The Open Door also provides emergency and transitional housing to the homeless with services that offer encouragement for daily living. We also partner with our community to help provide case management, counseling, connection to community resources, medical screenings, substance abuse recovery programs, budgeting, life and job skills training, transportation, and relevant advocacy.

    Services & Assistance

    FOOD ASSISTANCE

    Meals are offered at The Open Door six days a week. There is no charge or obligation for meal service. Currently, our new kitchen is open for guests to walk in, no sign up required.

    Lunch | Monday – Saturday | 11:30am – 12:30pm

    Dinner | Thursday and Sunday | 4:30pm – 5:15pm

    The evenings The Open Door is not offering meal service, meals are still available locally at area churches:

    Christ Church (54 Bay St) | Dinner on the Last Saturday of Each Month | 4:30pm – 5:30pm

    Salvation Army (37 Broad St) | Dinner Tuesday | 4:30pm & 5:30pm

    Faith Tabernacle Church (15 Nelson St) | Dinner the Second Saturday of the Month | 5:00pm – 6:30pm

    Full Foundation Church (62 Staple St) | Dinner on the First & Third Saturday of Each Month | 4:00pm – 5:15pm

    FOOD PANTRY

    The Open Door’s food pantry offers once a month food shopping per family. You are able to pick out items in varying amounts based on household size. This service is available on Monday, Wednesday from 1-5 p.m. and Friday 9-12 a.m. at our 226 Warren Street location. Please call 518-792-5900 ext. 250 to make an appointment, we cannot take walk-ins due to limited capacity in the pantry.
