    The NYS Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is a federally funded program that assists low-income New Yorkers in meeting their home energy needs. The HEAP program is comprised of Regular Benefit, Emergency Benefit, Furnace Repair/Replacement, and Weatherization components.

    Target Population:Regular HEAP benefits are based on income and the primary fuel source. The presence of a household member who is under age 6, age 60 or older, or permanently disabled may increase the benefit amount. A household may receive one Regular HEAP Benefit per program year, paid directly to the vendor that supplies their main source of heat.
