The Project SHARE Heating Fund is operated by the Heart Share Human Services of New York and helps fund NYSEG's Project SHARE Program. To receive a grant, clients must have an active disconnection on their heating account, meet HEAP income guidelines, and have exhausted available HEAP benefits and emergency aid. Eligibility has been extended to include military veterans and active service members regardless of income. It is a one time benefit of $350 toward a heating expense. Clients can only receive this benefit one time per season. This heating fund covers 45 counties in upstate New York. Broome County Office for Aging staff have applications and can assist clients with applying/faxing the applications.
