Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)

  • Description:

    Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) is a volunteer referral program for persons age 55 and older. RSVP coordinates 450 volunteers who serve at 75 local not-for-profit organizations. Hours are flexible and supplemental liability insurance is provided.

    Located:Salina Civic Center, 2626 LeMoyne Avenue, Mattydale, NY 13211

    No fee.

    Eligibility: Applicants must be 55 years or older and must formally enroll. A personal interview is required.

    Training is provided. Background checks may be required.

    Volunteer Opportunities

    Help deliver meals to homebound seniors and the disabled

    Assist one of the many pantries located in our community

    Offer transportation for medical appointments

    Visit lonely seniors residing in skilled nursing facilities or hospice

    Perform a variety of patient support tasks at one of our area hospitals

    Train to become a non-aerobic fitness instructor for our RSVP Strong Bones classes

    Help out at a parish thrift store or nonprofit clothing closet

    Assist with clerical tasks at one of many community agencies

    Provide assistance to refugee families

    Volunteer at one of our museums, nature centers or the zoo

    Assist victims of natural disasters
