A safe and supportive headquarters operated by a State Psychiatric Center which offers a constellation of opportunities and choices for individuals who are experiencing various stages of recovery from diagnosed mental illness to support and encourage one another. Peer Specialists are the primary staff presence. Professional rehabilitative and clinical staff, when present, provide assistance as requested by participants, but do not direct. Activities at the Center, or planned at the Center and implemented elsewhere in the community, are designed to help individuals live, work and fully participate in their own communities. Services will assist individuals to identify and plan to fulfill their personal interests in life, explore and realize opportunities for community participation, pursue social and recreational opportunities, maintain a physically healthy lifestyle, and to more actively take charge of their own life. The goal is to help individuals realign their personal vision of the future toward a lifetime of personal goal achievements, rather than one dominated by feelings of disability and resignation.
